We were to send either small items or pieces of fabric that were 8 x 11 inches. I sent these mug rugs done in "summer and winter" weave. This is the "summer" side.

And this is what the "winter" side looks like.

I received the two napkins at the left, made by Frances Schultz (top) and Dorothy Carr (bottom) and three small pieces of "yardage." There was also a fourth piece that came later, not in this picture.

We were challenged to make something using the small pieces of fabric.

In late January I finally got sewing. This is an iPad case made from cotton fabric woven in S&W pick-up by Susan Styrchak.

Here is the other side, with the iPad in place. The lining is cotton broad cloth. It is padded with fiberfill.

The fourth small piece of fabric, woven by Martha Letkeman, of cotton and wool was made into a small bag. Finished size 6 x 7 inches.

(01:02:2015)

Two pieces of old metal measuring tape inserted into the top keep the bag "snapped" closed until opened with your fingers. The lining is polyester satin and it is padded with a layer of fiberfill.

Another small bag, made of Tencel in twill blocks, was woven by Patricia Lee. Finished size 6.5 x 6.5 inches.

(04:02:2015)

The lining is also polyester satin, padded with fiberfill. There is an extra layer forming an inside pocket.

(04:02:2015)

The final piece, cotton woven in an overshot pattern by Louise Smith, was made into another bag. Finished size 9.5 x 7.5 inches.

(08:02:2015)

The lining is the same satin used for the first bag. The sides have narrow pockets to hold pens or knitting needles while leaving room for larger items in the middle. No padding was used in this bag.
