First Scarf of 2020
December - February

Last summer I tried knitting a scarf from linen yarn. It was so pleasing that after completing a shawl in December I started on another linen scarf. This pattern called for fine silk yarn, so I chose linen about the same grist. If you enlarge the picture you can see the yarn beside the scarf, fresh off the needles, which were only 2 mm diameter.

Being linen, it went into the washing machine in hot water before being pinned out for blocking. Of course I had "help" with this job.

The next morning, dry and unpinned, it's still pretty crisp, so next it went into the dryer with a load of laundry.

Of course no scarf photo shoot is complete until it's been modeled by Neil the Bear.

The pattern is "Blue Vinca Scarf" in New Vintage Lace by Andrea Jurgrau. If I do another I will start at both ends and graft it in the middle so the ends match.
