We have three birds feeders on our back deck. They mostly attract a large flock of Pine Siskins, a few chickadees and juncos and the occasional woodpecker. This siskin must have had cold ears.

The bird in front is nearly twice the size of the other siskins. Is he/she a "Siskin-tanker" or another species?
And yes, that feeder is empty - they are just cleaning up the bits at the bottom and letting us know that it's time for more!

When the hawk arrived there was a "panic" of siskins leaving. He spent about twenty minutes sitting on our fence eating something that he had caught in his claws. Then he hung around for a while waiting for more lunch to return. Checked by the following morning too.
