Closer to the house our patch of black-eyed-susans is in full bloom.

The former owners of our place planted lilies in some really inappropriate places, so they seldom bloom. This one appeared today buried in the branches of a Rose of Sharon bush.

Allan working on digging out the grass to enlarge a small flower bed. The new space will get more sun and is further away from the roots of the cedar in the corner of the picture.

All of the front yard flower beds have received a new rubber edge to make grass cutting easier.

We have many red and pink double poppies and a few red singles, but only one plant this shade of deep purple!

The red doubles are almost finished and now the pink doubles dominate. They are in several places in the front yard.

In front of the living room window we have just one of these tall red flowers. They are Crocosmia - "Lucifer" - a member of the glad family.
