Moisture wasn't due until afternoon, but it was raining when we got up. The forecast said "snow at higher elevations", but the rain had changed to snow by 9 AM. By the time this was taken about 11 AM the whole world was white. So much for picking up leaves in the morning before the rain starts...

It was windy too - so the rain gauge collected leaves and snow as well as water!

Noon - looking out the front window at a street light across the street.

Our resident towhee usually stays on the ground below the feeders. Today he decided that the feeder was an oasis with seeds not covered by the snow.

By 2 PM the snow is really piling up on the railings of our deck and our neighbour's.

2:20 PM - It's still snowing and blowing and the streets are getting sloppy. The temperature dropped in the morning to about 0.5 C and never got above 1.5 C all day. The hike to the mailbox was like walking in ankle deep water.
