Christmas Cactus
November

Two of the "Christmas" cactuses spent the summer outside. Buds were already forming when they came inside at Thanksgiving.

Now they are in full bloom - and will be all finished any day!

A closer look at those blossoms.

The white one is ahead of the orange and is already dropping some blossoms.

We spotted a small Zygo cactus in the grocery store with buds in an interesting shade of gold that we'd never seen before. Not only did it survive the trip home in near freezing weather, it only lost a couple of buds and in less than a week they were opening.

The new blossom colour with pink centres. I'm looking forward to these blossoms on a large plant in a few years.

This pink one moved from Kelowna as a small slip four years ago.

The plants above have been moved to the living room where we can enjoy them. This one is still hiding in the basement weaving studio but will probably be finished blooming before there is room for it in the living room. It has a little more pink than the first one to bloom. If you scroll way to the bottom of the yard pictures you'll see the same plant in bloom last January!

This one, also in the studio window, is a more intense pink that the one above. As that is my whole collection of Zygo cactuses, I hope that some of them re bloom in the coming months.
