As the lilies have finished blooming we took down the deer fence. Now you can see the other plants sharing the lily bed.

At the side of the house, a bunch of garlic was harvested from this bed. Then it was dug up and some compost dug in.
The silver line near the centre is the top of a sheet of metal put in to keep the roots of the asparagus on the other side from taking over.

Allan dug out a lot of dirt, rocks, and weeds around the heat pump and laid down newspaper, landscape cloth and mulch to extend what we put around the adjacent raised bed. Hopefully it will make weeding easier in the future!

The dirt went to the back yard to build up the path Allan is making behind the expanded flower bed.
And a lot of stones got moved around, including the three large rocks at the left.

This tray was outside with some herbs, but didn't get enough sun and the herbs weren't happy. Now it's in Allan's shop, with a light added, freshly planted with lettuce for the fall.

The fountain/bird bath on the back patio now has three layers instead of two. It has also been moved to the other end of the plants.

One of the tomato plants this year has produced strange bi-colour fruit. The inside is all pink and the texture is fine. The seed was labelled "Oxheart, staking" but they don't look like Oxheart. (12:08:2019)
