It was snowing when we went to bed. By morning there was a winter wonderland.

The back trees were bent by the snow.

The front sidewalk had disappeared.

(13:02:2021)
There was about six inches. But it was only about -4 C this morning - balmy by Canadian standards.

First time the snow blower has been out this year. The snow all has to go to the right or the truck would be buried.

The cherry tree gets well covered by the snow blower.

All finished - and the next door neighbour's driveway too.

Across the street, other neighbours had fun in the afternoon as the snow got a little more sticky.

It will be a few days before we see any flowers again!

Day Two

Standing under our back deck and looking up at the Pieris that has been blooming - if you enlarge it you can see pink blossoms sticking out of the snow.

There was another 6 inches of snow, only this time it was wet and very heavy. Thank goodness for the snow blower!

The railing was brushed off yesterday. Today it continued to snow heavily until about 3 PM, with the temperature hovering just above freezing. Clearing the deck was like shovelling water.

This is what happens to the rain gauge in a snowstorm!
