Kitchen Repainting
Starting August 24th.

Our 'Before' pano's didn't include the 'dinning room' side of the kitchen, but this is where we got to with the cooking side.

As usual we were so eager to get to work on emptying the china cabinet that we forgot to take a before picture.

The second to last of the baseboard repair jobs. (The last one is under a desk in the computer room and not likely to happen any time soon)

This house 'had' electric baseboard heating when we purchased it. After we installed the heat pump we started to remove the old heaters (leaving the wiring in place just in case). As we come to them, the baseboards have been 'patched up'

The painter wants two separate areas to work in, so they have some place to go while the other space dries.

In our case it is going to be the Laundry/garage entrance to the house.

Little side notes here.
First the plumbers are coming to remove the washer/dryer the day before the painters come.
Second just behind the dryer there is the last of the electric baseboard heater thermostats to be removed and patched ready for painting.

And of course all that shelving and table will have to be removed, and the holes filled.

The washer and dryer and some of the larger laundry items are now in the garage. Moving the washer and dryer was done by plumbers who arrived before 8:00 AM.

The end of day one!

This pano was taken at approximately 3:00PM from the patio doorway, kitchen on the left, dining room on the right..

Kitchen is now drying till morning, Laundry room is ready for first coat of white, and the front door is primered in gray.

Day 2 - The garage door is being painted gray because the standard cream looked terrible with white walls.

At long last the front door is turning red to match the adjacent wall.

And now - after 7 coats of red paint - it's finished!

Painting is complete, and pictures re-hung, but the china cabinet is still empty and there are still things to hang up in the kitchen window and patio door.
