High winds are bringing down lots of cherry leaves now.

(28:10:2025)
After two wind storms the backyard is thoroughly buried in leaves.

(29:10:2025)

The bright red maple is its shedding leaves too.

(29:10:2025)
The dogwood is hanging on to its leaves, and they are turning brighter red.

(29:10:2025)

In the house - that Zygo cactus is all over blossoms now.

(29:10:2025)
I don't remember ever having so many blossoms open at once on one of these cactuses!

(29:10:2025)

A third plant is starting to bloom now too.

(29:10:2025)
It's a bright orange.

(29:10:2025)

In the basement window this smaller Zygo cactus has white blossoms.

(29:10:2025)
They have touches of pink if you look closely.

(29:10:2025)

And one of them is home to an itsy bitsy spider!

(29:10:2025)
In the kitchen window - this African violet was started from one leaf about three months ago.

(28:10:2025)
Update on the emergency kits - we also have "grab and go" bags that we store in our closet, along with some rechargeable electronics. This is the minimum to grab when fleeing a burning or collapsing house. Again - hopefully never needed.

(30:10:2025)

Wait three days and this one is now covered with blossoms too.

(01:11:2025)
How about this fuchsia still forming buds on the 1st of November!

(01:11:2025)

We bought this mum recently for some more outdoor colour for the fall.

(01:11:2025)
More cherry leaves coming down.

(01:11:2025)

The dusty miller always looks silver in the summer, but on a wet morning it has turned green!

(01:11:2025)
Raking up the backyard leaves.

(01:11:2025)

Five of the seven bags we filled along with 2/3 of the large yard waste bin.

(01:11:2025)
But the grass is (temporarily) green again.
