Jean showing Sheila some of her weaving. She has a lovely new weaving studio that is already "overflowing."

Their place is a full acre and has over 200 rhododendrons. What follows are just a few examples.

Jean has identified the variety names for more than half and is working on naming the rest.

There was red, pink, white, orange and delicate yellow. And those are just the ones in bloom at the minute.

Jean showing off an enormous white blossom.

(10:05:2016)

There are singles, doubles, tiny, large, spotted and plain.

The Looys have a marvelous view of Georgia Strait, looking towards Texada Island.

Their property goes right down to the beach below.

The inside of each variety is different.

Another huge blossom. If you click to enlarge this one you get about life size.

(10:05:2016)

Some were small and close to the ground.

(10:05:2016)

This amazing blossom is one of my favourites.

(10:05:2016)

Many are huge trees.

(10:05:2016)

The variety of blossoms just keeps coming.

(10:05:2016)

This one was dainty.

(10:05:2016)

This last blossom is not a rhododendron. It is the only blossom - about 10 inches across - on a tree peony!
