	| Slugs were eating the leaves on this small rhododendron in the back yard.  The solution  - we hope - is a ring of copper mesh and some wood ash.

	|  | We did the same thing for this nearby rhodo.  The mesh is held in a circle by a ring of irrigation pipe.

	| These are the only blossoms on a tiny bleeding heart that has been trying to grow for a couple of years in a bad location.
