Fall Flowers September 15th

Just because it's the middle of September doesn't mean that nothing is blooming.
This dahlia just opened a couple of days ago and has more buds.

The Black-Eyed-Susans are still blooming.

The Hot Cocoa rose still has some buds too.

There are new blossoms on the Rose of Sharon daily. This is just after a sprinkle of morning rain. Too bad it didn't wash away the smoke in the air.

In the back yard the fibrous begonias are still colourful.

One last blossom on the Orchid Cactus peeking through a tomato plant on the other side of the wire.

This was one of the first dahlias to bloom. It looks like it will also be among the last.

The begonia basket at the front of the house likes the cooler weather.

In the backyard greenhouse a few tomatoes are showing signs of ripening.

Three cucumber plants have kept us in enough cucumbers for ourselves and the next door neighbours.

A lot of the tomatoes that have set will probably not be ripe before we have to bring them indoors. This is not a cherry tomato.

There are lots on the tall plant climbing up the wire below the back deck - but none of them have ripened yet either.
