Who says hostas don't have pretty flowers?

(08:07:2021)

The blue hydrangea glows in the morning sun.

(08:07:2021)
The Impatiens have perked up since the weather got cooler.

(08:07:2021)

And the fuchsias have started to bloom.

(08:07:2021)
The clematis is covered in blossoms now.

This dark purple lily is protected from the deer.

(08:07:2021)
There are new daylilies everywhere you look.

(08:07:2021)

We don't have a lot of dahlias yet, but this one is trying hard.

(08:07:2021)
The yucca at the front of the driveway knows it's summer.

(08:07:2021)

In the back yard we have a yellow version of "red hot poker" (Kniphofia).

(08:07:2021)
The red/orange one has almost finished blooming.

(08:07:2021)

We may actually have a few cherries this year!

(08:07:2021)
Most of our annual poppies are pink, but there are three plants with red flowers in an awkward spot by the steps to the back yard.

(08:07:2021)

This little plant is a perennial that we got about two years ago for late summer colour - then nearly killed the next spring by thinking it was a weed. The whole plant and blossom is about four inches tall. Maybe if we're nice to it, it will come back.

A dark, dark lily catching some leftover clematis stamens.

(03:07:2021)

The borage patch seeds itself and has started to bloom.

(03:07:2021)
This new "border" lily is only about 10 inches tall. It looks like there will be lots more blossoms.

(03:07:2021)

The orange daylily is getting a good start. There will be lots of these.

(03:07:2021)
So far all of the hydrangea blossoms are blue this year.

(03:07:2021)

The black daylily lives near the street at the front corner of the yard.

(03:07:2021)
The ghost maple tree survived the heat with no damage.

(03:07:2021)

This one is a pink daylily hiding near the roses.

(03:07:2021)
The black lily has one small blossom that is orange - maybe a bud baked in the hot sun?
