Some deer found their way into the back yard and nibbled at the small trees. We don't want them eating all those cherries! The apple trees and the fence have been sprayed with a nasty smelling deer repellant so hopefully there will be fewer visits.

Out front - the Jacob's Coat rose has more blossoms.

The yellow rose has several blossoms now.

The foxglove, which comes up like a weed in our yard, is starting to bloom.

There are lots of blossoms on the clematis now too.

We've put the hanging pots that Sheila planted at the front of the house and irrigation hoses are in place - watch for blossoms to come.

Five minutes of heavy rain plus 2 minutes of pea sized hail bucketed down just as we sat down to supper. The plants appear to have survived.

We thought that we moved this rhubarb last year! But it's all leaves with scrawny stems - hopefully the part that got moved to a sunnier spot will have fatter stems.

One inch of rain - the most rain in two months - and we get mushrooms in the back yard!

Well this is not a yard picture, but Friday lunch out at the food trucks at the Comox marina park is back for another season.

And I wish I had taken this one! The Snowbirds ended spring training this week with one last full flight before they left for places east. That is Texada Island at water level with Powel River hidden behind it.
