The tall Pieris beside the back deck is still blooming and has been tied to the railing so it's not flopping all over.

(03:04:2022)

The Bridal Veil Spirea is fully out now, snowy white beside the red rhododendron.

(25:04:2022)
The Hostas are sprouting so the covers have come out to protect them from the deer.

(25:04:2022)

The little cherry tree is protected too.

(25:04:2022)
The white Bleeding Heart is fully in bloom now.

(25:04:2022)

And there are more trilliums blooming in the back trees.

(25:04:2022)
There is also a tiny red Bleeding Heart. It's only about a foot tall.

(25:04:2022)

The Bronze Maple is blooming!

(25:04:2022)
The Big Leaf maples are covered in blossoms - some of which ended up all over the grass when we had a wind storm.

(25:04:2022)

The Laurel shrub is covered with buds. These beads will eventually turn into tiny blossoms.

(25:04:2022)
In the front yard the cherry tree that had only buds in the morning was about half in bloom by supper time.

(25:04:2022)

There are many lilies appearing in the perennial bed so it's time to put up protection from the deer there too.

(26:04:2022)
The white plastic pipes will be painted green and netting will be hung from it.

(26:04:2022)

We have been visited by a pair of Gold Finches - they've been spotted on and off for about four days now, but catching them sitting long enough for a picture is a challenge.

(26:04:2022)
Candy tuft, lives on the far side of the front lawn arch and doesn't get much attention.

(27:04:2022)
The white plastic pipes are now painted green and netting is coming soon but at 10oC the paint is taking a long time to dry.

(27:04:2022)

Our dwarf maple tree is now in full leaf! It seems to tolerate the pruning it gets every fall and does very well.

(27:04:2022)
Finally a bright enough day to do the annual cherry tree photo.

(28:04:2022)
A closer look at those luscious blossoms before they're all over the driveway!

(28:04:2022)
REALLY hard to see - but there is bird netting now attached to the fence to discourage deer noses from reaching the lilies.

(28:04:2022)

The plant table! These are the starts waiting to be set out in the yard. But it's been so cold that I haven't wanted to do it.

(29:04:2022)
This little guy (a Patio Stacker cucumber) just can't wait for spring to set it free.

(29:04:2022)
Sure hope he knows what he is getting into. This is likely the warmest spot in the raised bed.

(29:04:2022)

Up close to the Bridal Veil Spirea

(30:04:2022)
There are lots of different colours in the front flower beds.

(30:04:2022)
And the cherry tree blooms above all of them!
