It's been raining and blowing, so the petals on the driveway were too damp to sweep. They filled a garbage can and two leaf bags.

The object of attention here is not the solar lamp, but the green bars beside and behind it to keep the peony in the corner from flopping over.

An anemometer, attached so that it is above the roof line and, I hope, reading wind speed.

Something we found after this picture was taken and is likely going to cause a rethink of the mast. On the side towards the sun heats the mast and causes it to bend away from the from that side! The bend maybe 3 inches at the top, and who knows if it's going to be a problem.

While setting up the wind speed screen, it occurred to me that I could also put the image from a computer based camera (the next thing to play with) in here as well. That is what one would be able to see out the computer room window IF there were not two 27-inch LCD monitors in the way.

While waiting for it to warm up this morning (don't go outside at less than 10oC) real time video has been added as well.

The cement blocks have been put in place to keep the hill from sliding into the bed at the bottom, and a new "tree peony" has been planted.

Beside the garage, a boot scraper has been installed. What you can't see is the 4x4 fence post that has been removed so that the cement blocks can go under the garbage cans. It used to be about where the marks on the wall (by the garbage can) can be seen. The gate that used to be there was removed shortly after we moved in.

A new climbing hydrangea has been planted where we pulled out all the ivy last fall.

The right hand side of this screen beside the back patio is newly installed. The plan is to add some strips of lathe for a wind break and shade.
