We've finally had a little rain, but no frost - so the begonias are still blooming.

This is the other side of the same basket.

(01:11:2022)
Impatiens are even more tender!

(01:11:2022)

The fuchsias are still blooming too.

(01:11:2022)
How about those ruffles!

(01:11:2022)

The rest of the yard doesn't have many flowers but is still colourful.

(01:11:2022)
There are a few Mums peeking out.

(01:11:2022)

And one last bedraggled rose!

(01:11:2022)
The hydrangea will show off its "dried flowers" all winter.

(01:11:2022)
Might not look like it but these guys have had their fall hair cuts. To the right of the blue flower is a forsythia, that blooms first thing in spring. The blue flower and to the left is a lace hydrangea. And the dark one in the back is a dwarf maple, which would like to be 10 feet high, and will turn into a mass of fire red and orange as soon as the first frost.

(01:11:2022)
The bed at the top of our hill! Lettuce and herbs still doing well BUT the Basil may have taken some frost.

(01:11:2022)
The raised bed getting ready for winter! Trash removed, and garlic planted under the fence.

(01:11:2022)
The back yard taken from the deck level. Most of the leaves are down, wet and everywhere! Sounds like this is a good day to do something about it.

(07:11:2022)
A couple of hours, two leaf blower batteries, and a bunch of raking after the batteries died we're ready to start pickup.

(07:11:2022)
Hour or so later, and we're picked up, and bagged. The next job is to get them to the top of the hill and ready to go out to the street on Yard Pickup Day.

(07:11:2022)
11 half bags at the top of the hill. Wet leaves are heavy, much too heavy for out of shape old farts. Stored away from the house, just in case they are wet enough to heat.

As we were moving the bags, it started a light rain storm, which turned into ice pellets - or the first snow of the year!

We recorded 23.5mm of rain for today, most if it in the morning before this job started.

A special joy!

The Azalea in the front yard decided to bloom for the second time this year. It usually does do a second bloom, but it is a little later than normal.
