Colour - inside and out

The orchid cactuses did not bloom all summer when they were outside - then one of them produced one bud when I brought it inside!

Here's what the whole plant looks like. One year it had something like 20 blossoms at once!

Outside - the climbing hydrangea on the back fence has turned to gold.

The hosta tops should be cut off - but for now they add colour to the front yard.

The potted Japanese maple is bright red.

And the larger one, that grows in the ground, has turned a darker colour too.

The bronze maple has started to turn at last. They always look good against the morning sun but 30 minutes after this picture was taken the leaves have started to fall off like rain!

The dwarf maple in the front yard has not started to turn colour yet, but every fall it becomes home to spiders webs. This spider must be of the avant-garde set.
