The early spring continues. April 5th to 13th

Add two days and the red rhododendron buds are open. This is about three weeks earlier than the past two years.

Even the Bridal Veil Spirea is starting to bloom. It is nearly a month early.

The small red Pieris has only two blossoms this year. The cold spell in January must have damaged some buds.

The tree Pieris is also starting to bloom, but all of the blossoms are on lower branches, none at the top.

It has new growth all over. The new leaves start off red.

A few days later, and the small cherry tree in the back yard is starting to bloom. I hope that there will be warm enough days for the bees to come out!

The Gravenstein apple has a blunch of new bags of sand to train the limbs to bend down for easy picking.
