This is the Hawaiian Martin Mars water bomber on it's last flight from Port Alberni to retirement at the B.C. Air Museum

This aircraft has been a big deal in B.C. because within it's working life, it helped put out many wild fires all across the province including the 2003 Okanagan Park fire which caused us to evacuate in Kelowna.

Last fall we planted a few more lily bulbs, then more or less forgot where they had been planted so this one was a surprise when it came up. The bud looked like it was just another white one. What a great surprise when it opened!
Within a few days it had a second large blossom.
