How did we get to the middle of July already?

There are still a few poppies blooming. This one is providing colour where the roses have (temporarily) stopped blooming.

The yucca by the gate post has started to bloom. Ours is always a week behind the one across the street.

(13:07:2024)
One blossom left on this climbing rose.

(13:07:2024)

And one or two on the Hansa rose.

(13:07:2024)
The blue hydrangea is in full bloom now.

(13:07:2024)

We bought a new lily yesterday - haven't decided where it's going to be planted.

(13:07:2024)
The lace hydrangea is fully out now too.

(13:07:2024)

The crocosmia at the west side of the house has just started to bloom.

(13:07:2024)
The hummingbirds love these. They don't get as much sun as they would like because they are shaded by those cedars.

(13:07:2024)

This poppy is in the raised vegetable bed where we don't want it to grow but it's the only one we have that colour.. We'll have to try to scatter its seeds somewhere else.

(13:07:2024)
This is our next door neighbour's rose - but easily visible from our yard - and glowing on a sunny morning.

(13:07:2024)

The climbing hydrangea we planted by our side gate has struggled to grow, but is getting taller this year and even has a few blossoms.

(13:07:2024)

The last of the fruit trees in our back yard. This has been a favorite of ours with the hope of cherries. However our friendly neighbourhood racoon has stripped it of all but a few cherries over in the last two nights.

(14:07:2024)

These (not yet ripe) are all that were left for us.

( Any bets we'll have an unhappy 'coon tonight?)

(14:07:2024)

It took about fifteen minutes to get to this stage.

(14:07:2024)

And another ten to get it out of the ground.

(14:07:2024)

Leveled and replanted to grass!

(14:07:2024)

A clematis that we found hiding in plain sight!
