One of our newest plants is starting to bloom.

Then we went out and bought more plants. This is a new Hot Cocoa rose that will be planted beside the back patio at the foot of the climbing rose.

This won't be a tall plant, but its giant blossom is about 8 inches across. It's a Stargazer hybrid.

Last fall Allan planted Icelandic Poppy seeds. When they didn't appear with the other early poppies we thought they had not geminated or been accidentally weeded out. But about a month ago three plants appeared, and today this one bloomed!

The blossom is not as large as we expected - maybe next year!
