Almost the end of leaf season Nov 11th to 17th

Our week started with Remembrance Day.
Allan had some uncles and Sheila had a great uncle in one or the other of the World Wars, but it was seldom spoken of when we were young. What the soldiers went through is acknowledged more now.

The small Japanese Maple is now almost all yellow and red, but those are cherry leaves on the ground.

The red Japanese maple has just started to lose its leaves.

There's been a strong wind which brought down the last of the cherry leaves.

Skip ahead six days and the small Japanese maple is starting to lose its leaves now.
The cherry leaves and red maple leaves have all been picked up. The big bin for pickup is full and there are seven extra bags waiting to go.

The baskets of strawberries and the potted plants from the front yard have all been moved to the raised bed on the west side of the house. It will soon be covered with a tarp to protect them for the winter.

The pompoms on the big hydrangea have all turned brown. Now do we cut them off or leave them till spring?

Soggy bags of leaves that sat out in the four inches of rain we got this week. The lace hydrangea behind them is still green!
