This started off with Allan's desire to have a special Rhodo from the Anderton Gardens, but didn't think a shovel was going to be the way to get it. After some on line research we found this reference which seemed to hold some hope of it working, but if the time it takes to root is within Allan's life expectancy (what ever that may be) only time will tell. This is one of the cuttings we had to start with (27:08:2024) |

First step is to trim leaves so that only a couple small ones are left. So all but the top two will be gone, along with the bud that is forming on the tip. Then the stem will be trimmed at an angle from both sides, below a 'bud'. (27:08:2024) |

Trimming almost done We have two kinds of root stimulant, so each of our pair of cuttings gets a different treatment. (27:08:2024) |

Ready to go into the potting mix. (If you popup the high res version of this picture you can see the angle cuts on the bottom.) (27:08:2024) |

Five of the eight cuttings done and in the dirt. (After our year of poor, and delayed results we had this year with the purchased potting mix we are now back to making our own) (27:08:2024) |

All done, labeled and soaking over night before they go under the grow lights. (27:08:2024) |
