The Fritillaria or toad lilies are starting to bloom. They have spread a lot this year.

This is a question.

The two Dahlias in the pots (at the back) were planted in the black pots, the same day as the three in the front. Then transplanted a week before the picture was taken.

Why are they twice the size of the ones in the front?

(09:04:2025)
The sun came out and the red/orange tulips opened up again. Looks like they will soon be losing petals.

(09:04:2025)

The rhododendron at the front of the house has some large buds.

(09:04:2025)
This blossom is almost open!

(09:04:2025)

The miniature Japanese maple is leafing out.

(09:04:2025)
So is the red one that lives in a pot.

(09:04:2025)

On the sunny side of the house, the rhubarb has come up.

(09:04:2025)
The lilies nearby are getting taller.

(09:04:2025)

The Pieris with the white blossoms has bright red new leaves.

(09:04:2025)
More Pieris blossoms.

(09:04:2025)

The bluebells - growing where we don't want them - are blooming.

(09:04:2025)
This little flower is a Lungwort or Pulmonaria. It was probably added to the back yard last year, but we had forgotten about it.

(09:04:2025)

The primulas in the back yard are starting to bloom also.

(09:04:2025)
The out of place "bluebells" also come in white.

(09:04:2025)

The peony beside the workshop door is getting tall.

(09:04:2025)
The pompom hydrangea at the west side of the house is leafing out.

(09:04:2025)

And the lilies nearby are about a foot tall. These should be about four feet tall before they bloom.

(09:04:2025)

Remember the rhodo buds above? Wait three days and now it's a six-inch blossom!
