Welcome to the Sheila's projects

The scarf at the left was woven at the end of a workshop on "Collapse Weave" taken in May from Anne Field. The three photos above show a close-up of the finished scarf, the scarf before wet finishing and very close-up before finishing. The warp is wool (two weights) and the weft is wool alternating with silk lycra. The take-up was 18 % in length and 64 % in width.

Sea Silk Scarf About 2007 Allan gave me two luscious skeins of yarn made of 70% silk and 30% "seacell" (seaweed) for my birthday. But I was knitting the "endless" shawl and the yarn got set aside. Now that the shawl is finally finished I can go back to knitting smaller things. This scarf - knit from an "Elizabethan Lace" pattern took only three months of coffee breaks and TV.
